Garry Joseph was born and raised in a small town in southern Haiti. Growing up, even though he and his family did not have much, they always found a way to help those who had even less. Whether it was sharing vegetables from the garden or providing a place to stay for the night, Garry was instilled with a deep sense of giving from his parents when he was a child that has continued through to his adulthood. This is where the vision for Community Assistance of Resources for Everyone (CARE) Inc came. In 2009, while living in Reading, Pennsylvania with his family, Garry had the idea to start a non-profit organization that would aim to support the growing Community Assistance of Resources for Everyone (CARE) Inc in the area. Since then, Community Assistance of Resources for Everyone (CARE) Inc has hosted family games nights, Mothers' Day brunches, and annual Christmas parties to foster a sense of community and connection with the people of Reading and beyond. In the future he hopes that these efforts will translate to his home country of Haiti and the rest of the caribbean.
